It’s a wrap: reflections on our first series of afro hair care workshops

In February 2026, Done Together CIC delivered Wrexham’s first-ever series of Afro hair care workshops, which were made possible through a £4,200 grant from the Welsh Government Culture Grant Scheme, administered by Adferiad.

Done Together CIC’s first commissioned project saw us work alongside Wrexham’s young carers to co-design and deliver a special celebration event for Credu Cymru. Rooted in participation, creativity and care, the evening was shaped by the young carers themselves — with their ideas, choices and personalities helping create a night that truly celebrated their voices and achievements.
£4,200 grant to launch Wrexham’s first series of Afro hair workshops

Done Together CIC is proud to announce that we’ve been awarded just over £4,200 to deliver Wrexham’s first-ever Afro hair education workshops.

The funding, awarded by Adferiad (Diverse Cymru) through the Welsh Government’s Culture Grant Scheme for Grassroots Organisations, will enable us to run a new programme of practical, community-led workshops focused on caring for afro-textured hair.

Done Together CIC has been chosen to build and lead the new Youth Forum for Wrexham’s City of Culture team, giving young people a real voice in shaping plans for 2029.
Rooted in our mission of inclusion and community pride, we’ll create a diverse, supportive space where young people can influence decisions and help shape Wrexham’s cultural future.
Natalie Edwards: Building Done Together CIC – Reflections on our first three months

Done Together CIC launched three months ago with a clear aim: to deliver high-quality consultancy that also strengthens communities across Wrexham and the surrounding region.

In that time, we have secured two grants, delivered and initiated work with partners including Credu Cymru, AVOW and Owen Davies Consulting, and been selected to develop the Youth Forum for the Wrecsam 2029 City of Culture programme.

Start-Up Business Grant from Wrexham Council secured to get Done Together CIC off the ground

Done Together CIC (Done Together) has been awarded nearly £1,500 through Wrexham County Borough Council’s Shared Prosperity Fund Enhanced Business Start-up Clinic Grant. This funding will help us put the practical foundations in place to run the organisation day-to-day, so we can deliver our new services across North Wales and the border regions, supporting local people, groups and businesses to turn ideas into action.

Credu Cymru becomes our first commissioned client, in a partnership that helped spark our creation

We are proud to announce that Credu Cymru is the first organisation to formally commission Done Together CIC — a milestone that feels both significant and deeply personal for our newly formed, women-led social enterprise rooted in Wrexham.

We Were Proud to Be Part of Wrexham’s 55-Year Friendship Celebration with Germany

Last month, we were honoured to play a part in something truly special – a celebration marking 55 years of friendship between Wrexham and Märkischer Kreis, a district in Germany.

Hosted at Hotel Wrexham on Monday 13 October, the event brought together more than 70 guests for an evening filled with music, connection and shared stories. It was a real showcase of what can happen when community, creativity and collaboration come together, and we were proud that Done Together CIC helped make it happen.

Done Together CIC is a women-led social enterprise in Wrexham, reinvesting project profits into grassroots ideas through its Together Fund.

Founded by five professionals with shared roots at Wrexham University, the team blends strategy, events, comms, and inclusion to help communities deliver bold, creative projects that build pride and tackle inequality.
